Financial Information
The cost of Infertility treatments can vary widely. Some, like ovulation induction with oral agents, or intrauterine insemination (IUI) are relatively inexpensive. IVF and its variations, such as preimplantation genetic diagnosis, are more expensive.
At Northeastern Reproductive Medicine, we are committed to providing the most cost effective fertility treatment in the area. We are also committed to cost transparency.
Infertility diagnosis and treatment plans have many components, and treatment plans must be personalized. Subsequently, it is very hard to make accurate estimates about the costs of these treatments without a consultation with our doctors. Usually, insurance covers the entire cost of this initial consultation. As part of the consultation, a financial counselor will help guide you through all of the financial aspects of your personalized treatment plan.
Should your personalized treatment plan call for IVF, it is essential that you understand the total cost of treatment at the start, rather than be hit with unforeseen and unwelcome added costs as the cycle progresses. Many IVF centers provide an initial low cost estimate that does not include many essential elements of the treatment, such as medication, intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI), or embryo cryopreservation.
When we advise a patient to undergo IVF treatment, we provide a comprehensive quote that includes ICSI, assisted hatching, embryo freezing, and a year’s storage of the frozen embryos. This enables you to make an informed judgment about whether you want these additions without worrying about the financial implications of your decision. Anesthesia is billed to you separately by our anesthesia providers. We order your medications through reputable national pharmacies with expertise in fertility treatment; not only do they provide great patient support and fast local delivery, they also provide the lowest costs to you. Frequently there are programs to help you defer some of the costs of these medications; if you qualify, our nurses will guide you through the application process.
We want you to succeed. If your first cycle should fail, the cost for subsequent cycles is lower. At your consultation, we will go over all the financial implications of your treatment with you, with an eye to reducing your costs and optimizing your chances for a successful outcome.
